Workflow is the automated movement of electronic documents or forms throughout an organization.  Not only can you track where its going, but where its been and for how long.  You can send it to more than one person at a time, it can flow based on rules or simply by selecting an individual.  It does not travel through email so you won't have to worry about losing it or accidently deleting a document.

A few of the most commonly requested workflows revolve around the Accounts Payable process.  CSSI provides pre-built solutions that handle many of the workflow needs including:

Below is a snapshot of the Accounts Payable workflow product in action.  Users can easily view the invoice, flip from one page to the next, provide G/L information as well as approve with a single click of the mouse.  A history of each action is captured and electronically attached to the invoice for later retrieval.

The information collected in workflow will be uploaded to your business application as a transaction in your A/P module - ready to post and print checks.

Approvers are notified by email that they need to approve an invoice - they don't require access to your accounting system, they only need a low cost (concurrent based) approver license for either web access or a full client implementation.
